CAD Interfaces
for Smooth Data Exchange Processes
CAD data from other systems
hyperMILL® allows you to import CAD data from other systems and formats quickly and securely.
A comprehensive and powerful interface package makes it possible to import data between different CAD systems and hyperMILL® without any problems. Then you can benefit from a CAD environment that is perfectly tailored to the requirements of CAM programmers, and, at the same time, use all the entities, properties, and structures from your original CAD data.
This means you have all the familiar information from your original CAD system at your disposal when you work in hyperMILL®:
Entities
- Points
- Curves
- Faces
- Solids
- Assembly features
- Axis systems
- Texts
- Tessellations
- Datum planes
Properties
- Colors
- Layers
- Names
- Threads
- ISO fits
You can easily import individual parts, variants, and modules as well as all product manufacturing information (PMI).
Product Manufacturing Information (PMI)
The complexity of the various parts and components makes it necessary to use PMI safely in the design data and in manufacturing. hyperMILL® is able to import and display geometric dimensions and tolerances (“GD&T” information), surface finishes, and metadata with notes. Machine-readable PMI, also referred to as “semantic PMI,” can be evaluated and processed directly by hyperMILL®. This makes it possible, for example, to assign tolerance specifications directly to the respective machining jobs and apply them there.
